I took 5 preg tests and the results were very faint. the blood test came up with 43. Dr. said I could miscarry if that number doesn't rise in the next few days to a week...has anyone had similar experience?

I had a VERY faint line with all three of my kids...the first ended in miscarriage, but I have two healthy babies. Good for you for doing the blood test. Keep in close check with your dr. Good luck!

How pregnant are you? HOw many weeks? When did you ovulate? The low level could be due to a very early pregnancy.

The range of normal HcG is HUGE.....you should test again in 48 hours....it should be 86 or higher...then again in another 48 hours, it should double again.

If it is doubling (not just slowly rising) you may be fine. I'd ask for an ultrasound too. There are other warning signs depending on how far along you are. Really early signs are a funny shaped uterine sack, further signs are the absence of a fetal pole (baby) or sluggish heart beat, but that can't be seen until well after 6 weeks at only with a vaginal ultrasound.

If your numbers are slow to rise, I'm very sorry, but the pregnancy is most likely not going to continue.

Also, the best home pregnancy tests don't usually pick up until 50-100 so don't worry too much about the faint pink line. I had one and I am 15 weeks and we are fine.

Good Luck! I know this is a scary time!

I'm glad you did the blood test instead of relying on the urine test. Did your Dr give you any medication (progestrone) to possibly help the pregnancy? If not ask about this. I had to take it when I was pregnant with our son in 1996 after having a miscarriage in 1994.
Good luck.
God Bless.
