Keep in mind that I am taking over a Jr. Girl Scout troop grades 4-6. Also I have never ran a troop before and am unsure of what I am doing anyways. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

a fund raiser, or maybe lots of them. have people donate things for a yard sale, bake sale, carwash. ask for donations. ask other parents to donate snacks for meetings. call another leader in the area and see if you can get ideas from them, team work!!

Congrats on taking over....I'm a former cub scout den leader and still currently on the cub scout committee and I totally understand where you are at. The other answers are definately worth talking about with your committee. Bake sales, car washes are great ideas. I would also check into some things that the Scout council may have to offer. Two things that we have done is popcorn/candy sales. Some places offer an 80% profit. You will have to check around, another thing is that we sell wreaths in the winter time and place our order with a local business. We make about 75% profit. The bigger the order, the more of a break we get. that money lasts us for the remainder of the year. Seek advice from other parents who have done this in the past or someone who is currently doing the same thing for suggestions that have worked for their troop. You would be surprised on what you can come up with.

My mom was a troop leader. I was a cub scout leader. If you are new, you can call the council and talk to someone there who can give you tips. Some of what you do depends on how many kids you have to work with. Do you have dues? I would start planning a bake sale, for one thing. I really support scouting, and give you credit for what you are doing.

Men aren’t “supposed” to seek out advice on how to get women or ask their friends how do I get a girl. We don’t sit around analyzing each other’s relationships. Still, picking up beautiful women is a skill that anyone can learn with enough time, practice, and access to the right resources. Read here https://tr.im/w3gm8
There is a ton of stuff ( to help you get started. Sometimes the techniques go against “conventional wisdom” or what seems to work in movies and romance novels. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and try them – they DO work and they are a huge advantage over the competition.

Have the girls bake brownies, cookies, cupcakes... and host a bakesale, it will also help them earn badges (If they still do that) It's a long time until the Girl Scout Cookies come around.

Hope you have checked out girlscouts.org

do a fund raiser, but it may mean you need to put out some money to make money for the troop. Or, I agree with the first answer "take the money and skip town" ....... its simple, but brilliant.

Have a car wash to raise funds. Parents will all come and have the girls wash their cars.
