Have you ever been bed-ridden due to horrible cramps, bloating and fatigue from your period? Normally, it's not this bad, but once and awhile it is. Any other sufferers like me? I bask in your misery! lol
How many of you want to guess a guy will answer this question too?

I'm the exact same way! But now I have a ritual I do to keep the pain minimal. First, at the initial twinges of pain (you know, those slightly painful stirrings in your abdomen) I start taking 400mg of ibuprofen (Advil works, but my favourite is Extra Strength Motrin) every five hours. (Stay away from other crap like Tylenol, for example - unlike ibuprofen, it isn't a prostaglandin-inhibitor, which means it can't temporarily kill off the chemicals that are giving you pain.) I also drink lots of blueberry or camomile tea, which seem to help (a recent study from the Imperial College of London in the UK seems to back this up) take the edges off. I eat lots of fruit and milk, go for short walks every couple of hours, and when need be, collapse in my bed in the fetal position whimpering in the phone about my woes like a psychologically traumatized chihuahua.

Of course, if it gets too bad, see a doctor.

Yes I have. I take 2 midol and lay on a heating pad. It use to be so bad that when i was in high school I had to get a note from my doctor stating that on the first day of my period and maybe the next day I would not be in school. After I had my first baby my cramps having been as bad

Yes, and assuming you wish to prevent this problem in the future: take Motrin a day or two before your period begins, take no more than 2400mg in any 24 hour period. It is the wonder drug of menstral cramps. Continue until your cramps usually would disappear, about three days into your period. Just keep in mind to take this med with milk and food, since it can upset stomach.

I ABSOLUTELY understand your pain. I am convinced that horrible PMS should be covered by my short-term disability policy. lol Seriously, not every month but some times it does happen that, like you, I find myself not capable of leaving the bed. I have found taking vicaden (?sp) on the day I am in so much pain helps immensely. Also, I have started taking 800mg Ibuprofen about 8 days b 4 my period came to help ease some of the pain.
Hope you feel better soon!!!

You know, I've had to deal with it on several occasions and I have to admit, that is the worst pain I have felt in my life so far. I couldn't even stand up straight. I thought there for a moment that I wasn't actually having my period but that I was going to give birth to a 20 pound baby. Or so it felt like it. Doesn't it suck to be a female sometimes?!?!?

No. I rarely get cramps of any kind. I did once & it was horrible! A guy probably will answer this question, but it's a free country, so I guess they're allowed.

I totally white knuckled my way through my cramps last weekend. It was the worst I'd ever had, by far. Probably time to visit the gyno?
