how do you serve an order to show cause in California?

You can find a process server and pay them to do it... or you can go to your local law library and print a copy of a "proof of service".. and have someone NOT INVOLVED IN THE LEGAL ACTION serve the person.. so long as they complete the paperwork appropriately and submit it to the Courts. Of course, keep a copy, to prove the person was served.
