it shouldn't cost more than $100 depending on your car. If you can do the work yourself, take the old one out and bring it to a Pep Boys or an Autozone. They will give you a discount--what they call a core deposit--and you may end up spending as little as $35. They keep your old one and send it out to be rebuilt, and they sell it to someone else down the road...that's why they take money off of your new purchase. It all depends on the make and model of the car, but you really shouldn't be over $100.

about 4-5 hundred? usually about 250-300 for the alternator itself, plus the labor.

I just recently had to buy a new alternator, and a new battery. I went to the nissan dealership and the total with parts and labor was around 595 i think.

it depends on the car, and the engine size in it, they can cost as little as £40-£50, they can go up to a couple a hundred, if U have a high end car

a good place to check would be a alternator & starter repair shop in your area, they can rebuild your alternator back to like new check their prices
