Back to the Future is brilliant, as is The Time Machine (from 1960, not the remake). Star Trek IV was popular with non-Trekkies, Time Bandits is good if you like somewhat offbeat films, 12 Monkeys was good as it was a bit convoluted and you had to think to keep up. The site below has a good, long list.

There is a newer remake called "Time Machine", and it gets pretty dumb with these ape peaple at the end. My husband loves time travel movies too. He wishes there were more of them out. Mabbee you can make/direct one!!

Have you checked out the new Dr. Who that's coming out? Last season had Chris Eccleston and the new season is David Tennent. season 1 is available on DVD in the US (I think) and I know it's being shown on cable. It's really good.

My favorite is "Time after Time"
where H.G. Wells goes into the future to catch Jack the ripper....Great old movie 1979 and yes you can still find it.

Apart from all the ones mentioned above there is an under-rated film called 'Timeline' (2003). Pretty good.
