Scion is a United States-only division of Japanese Toyota Motor Corporation founded in 2003. It is also a brand of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. It currently has three models: the Scion xA also known as the Scion xA white and xB (both rebadged Japanese market cars, named ist and bB, respectively) and the tC (a new design based on the European-market Toyota Avensis). Scion's long-term goal is to appeal to Generation Y consumers, expected to dwarf the market size of Generation X by 2020. Scion grew from Toyota Project Genesis, a failed effort to bring younger buyers to the Toyota marque in the United States. Scion is Toyota's entry-level brand, slotting below Toyota in the lineup.

What is the meaning/definition of "Scion"?
"Scion" means descendant of, and shows Scion's clear heritage and connection to Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. The pronunciation is "cy-on"; like "Sci" in Science with "on" at the end; "sigh" with "on". The word scion derives from Old French cion, of Germanic origin.
The 2004 xA and xB are both manufactured at the Toyota Takaoka plant located in Japan.
The 2005 tC is manufactured at the Toyota Tsutsumi plant in Japan.
What is Scion's mission statement?
To satisfy a trend setting youthful buyer through distinctive products and an innovative, consumer-driven process.
From Scion.com -
Our goal from the start was to change the conventions of the auto industry. We set out to create an affordable, unique & sophisticated vehicle. We wanted to create a new environment for people to purchase a car in - the kind of place where you're not sold a car, but rather where you would go to buy a car. Simple, straightforward & convenient - that's Pure Price.
Here's how it's done: Scion's Pure Price purchase experience means no haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are free to set their own prices.

a SCION is a car make by Toyota for the people middle age ( 23 - 28) with the idea of a car that is bring directly from the Japanese market. The idea of the Japanese market born in the people who search for parts for their cars made in japan, because is a different way they design cars, all the cars you see here in japan are different, like some of they dint have any air bags, the front and rear bumper are shorter so your car looks more aerodynamic, so in that idea is why SCION born.

its a newer division of toyota aimed at the tuner crowd. Funny thing is, theyre hardly tuner cars, but end up being great family cars like the civic/carolla. they currently make the xA, which is a sub-compact (mini sized), the xB which is the driving toaster around a golf size, and the tC which is a civic sized car with great standard options.
