It largely depends on the quality of the grass seed. The bag should have a white label on the back of the bag telling the consumer: what kind of species of grass was found, where the seed came from, the germination rate in ideal labratory conditions, any other crop seed found, any inert matter (i.e. dirt, seed shells, ect.), any weeds, and any weeds your state considers noxious ( very aggressive, and hard to rid yourself of). Note that they usually take a 5 gram sample from a lot the size of a tractor and trailer load, but I do know that Scott's seed uses a 50 gram sample, just to be sure. Anything with over a 85% germination rate is considered exceptional.
Other variables include soil ph, nutrients, even proper seeding practices so it's hard to tell.
I would say about 800 plants if you do everything correctly

The first season you sould have close to 1000, providing it has been handled properly and planted and cared for correctly. The second season is the tricky one. If the 1000 seeds are only 10% perennial, in the second year you will only have 100 seeds growing. Most seeds are sold as a mixture of annuals and perennials. The more perennials you get, the more expenisve the seed is. Again you get what you pay for.
I don't mess with the mixes that are very low in perennials and high in annuals. I want to reseed as few of times as possible.

Well, only about 80% of it will come up. How much does the bag weigh. For bare ground, you'll want to put down 5# per 1000 square feet for a nice lawn, less # if just to cover.

ok i planted 3 bags of plant seed and learned it depends on a lot of things how well you do, birds, weather, how bunched are they when you lay them out, insects and location sunny or shady so its hard to tell but with that many you are bound to grow somethin o yes and as long as no one walks all over it

after removing the seeds and stems, I'd say you wouldn't have any grass in the bag...and your bong will have to go back into the closet...
