There are many different types of memory, you must ensure you buy the correct memory for your system.
You must also ensure that your motherboard can take the 2Gig of RAM. (4x 512MB = 2 Gig)
Take a look at the link from a website that sells memory, I did a search for "ddr 333" use it as a guide so when you go to purchase your memory, you know what to look for.

In short - you can't.

No modern PC motherboards comes with more than two memory slots. - You'd HAVE to buy a couple of 1Gb modules & sell those.

BEWARE: Motherboards older than about 2 or 3 years usually DO NOT support over 1 Gb of RAM.

So be careful - it's either going to cost you about £70 EACH for 1Gb modules (You don't need to install a pair) or another £40 for a motherboard and a LOT of re-installation as Windows will freak out when you change the main board!!

If your existing board will take 2Gb - Then you could get ONE 1Gb module and have 1.5Gb in your machine. BUT, the memory will only run at the speed of the slowest module ie. 333Mhz.

Only buy a good brand like Kingston, Crucial or Corsair. There is a reason why cheap RAM is cheap....

From what you've told us, it sounds like you have 2 512mb memory modules installed already. Soooo, if you want to add 2 MORE modules your motherboard must have 4 memory slots.

Anyway, the link below will tell you what memory you computer uses, just type in your computer model number........

Major brand DDR333 or 400 should be fine.
Kingston are my personal brand of choice, or Corsair.
