mining the moon would be a piece of cake, but smelters and factory's would have to be built underground and that would cost a arm and a leg, as for getting to earth just us electromagnetic rail accelerators to launch the finished product to earth. The human race has a bad habit of over thinking things and making it sound harder than it really is.

The International Space Station is going to cost the USA something like $100 billion. It is one of 16 countries in the collaboration. It will produce the square root of zero.
How much do you think it would cost to design, transport, construct and commission a fully working mining / production facility on the moon?
Nice idea, but I don't think it would ever make a profit.

I'm not sure that those elements are found on the moon, but if they are the cost associated with having a mine on the moon would be astronomical.
There are too many costly problems on earth to focus on the moon.

The moon is primarily made of basalt, which is not of particular intrest to most mine interests. There may be some isolated areas in which certain magmatic properties isolated precious metals, but you would have to find a lot to justify the cost in travel!

Mining in the moon will be necessary for human presence there. Look at the Chinese Space strategy and you will see that it included mining as a key to the financing of their space effort.

There are no energy sources on the Moon, so processing anything up there is just as unfeasable as mining it and bringing it here. No ore is that expensive.

Doubtful if the processing could be done there, as you have no atmosphere in which to do any processing.
Economically, mining the moon would be unprofitable, due to the high cost of transportation.

Possibilities are endless..
Our current technology does't allow that but there are people like us,who dare to dream, and them make it possible..
Currently it would be very expensive and not practical..
As far i am concerned..however "depending on the mineral" and future advances in technology who knows what dreams may come..

The expense of shipping would kill any manufacturing venture on the moon.
