YES! I was married to one! LOL!

'Going Postal' means some disgruntled employee showing up at work with a gun & shooting co-workers down.

From my experience, ya need to worry more about them screwing around with each other & catching STDs!

(Gee, does that sound bitter?!?)

A number of years ago more and more postal workers were becoming violent due to "on the job stress" from over-work. Several came into the work place armed with guns (etc) and started shooting.

That's where the term "Going Postal" came from. Since then, lots of changes have taken place throughout the postal system and various companies watching for people showing this kind of stress - and heading it off before it becomes violent.

Going Postal is a term that is used for anyone that goes on a psychopathic rage and kills.
Not all postal workers are insane murderers.
To me going postal means waking up one day and just whacking a boat load of people.

Nope not afraid of postal workers. "Going Postal" means when you go crazy and shoot people. The term comes from when a postal worker had enough and actually did that.

The expression means totally losing it and flipping out completely. But... I'm not afraid of postal workers, because most of the ones I've known have been courteous and kind. I still live by the golden rule: do unto others as you want them to do to you.

It means going ape-**** at their place of employment in response to unfair treatment by their superiors, or the stupid bureaucratic rules they have to work by . There's no need for the general public to fear the poor lowly postal carrier. All the ones I know are nice, friendly and even-tempered.

No, they are very fine shots, know gun safety and have to qualify on the firing range each year. "Going Postal" is an old term that has been replaced with: "Going High School!"

Some poor guy went off his rocker and shot a bunch of people...he happened to work for the post office. "Going postal" is just a euphemism...anyone can snap...do not be smug, this too, could happen to you.
