It's so easy to get married, I remember a friend on her wedding morning say that if it ddidn't work out she'd just divorce him... There's no stigma and no comebacks.
Marriage is hard work which either rewards or drains you.
That said, even the best long term projects and promises can fall by the wayside when interest wanes or we are seduced by something that gleams a little brighter...
We fill our hearts and minds with Hollywood romance and we want to keep on experiencing the highs of falling in love, like a bunch honeymoon junkies. Real life's just not like that.
It's really just another casualty of a throwaway society and if we don't like something we tend to fix ourselves up with something more agreeable and justify it by saying 'life's too short'...
It doesn't cut it - it never will...people who live their lives this way will end up cold, lonely, embittered and filled will remorse for the real treasures they lost. It's no comfort, but it's what I believe.

Many people don't take their marriage vows seriously. They don't realize they PROMISED to stay together until one dies. I know there are situations that arise, but you have to resist tempation! It is possible to be faithful in marriage - I've been married for almost 14 years and though I've been tempted, I've never broken my vow (and neither has my hubby, even though he served 2 terms overseas in the war). I attribute this to a strong faith in God and involvement in a great church!

Do you honestly thing most people get married without the intent of being faithful? Some people are just pigs, others have extenuating circumstances that you can't understand until you are in their postion.

Right. And whats with all these married couples wanting to have threesomes ?? I'm a little shocked to be honest with you. I didn't think there was this many people who would be ok with watching their spouse sleeping with someone else. Is it just me ?

It's the hope that they might be one day. Then again, some people can't stand to be alone and marriage says I'm guaranteed to have at least one person to wake up to till they die.

Sometimes they are forced into getting married, others think that commitment will keep them from cheating but they eventually cheat.....there are many reasons. But married folks should not cheat at all!

I might not have the best marriage in the world, but I would never disrespect myself or my husband with something like infidelity.

I agree. I think people don't know what marriage really is. They don't understand that it's sacred.

To each is his own. Why bother analyzing why people do what they do?
