wow...cutting the trunk, eh? Did you think this one through? What are you going to cut it with, a torch or a cutting wheel? Either way, you'd better do it far away from your house and make sure that your family is a mile away...you're going to blast yourself into oblivion. Even if the tank is empty, you're going to start a fire and probably an explosion.
Drop the tank. There's no other way to do it man. You're goiong to kill yourself if you cut corners here.

It sounds a little dangerous to cut above the gas lines and the tank. I would just empty the tank and drop it down. I know its harder but you may just live to see another day.You could go to one of the camaro websites and ask it there ,maybe someone has done it like you want to.Good luck.

about 10 by 10 inches and yes i have done it but not with a cut-off wheel, i used pneumatic shears, i also used sheet metal to make a cover for it.
