When I saw your question, I was going to answer Stevie Ray Vaughan, but then I saw you like him as well. I'm pleased.
I loved his version of Hendrix's "Little Wing" with it's cleaner sounds.

Well, I guess BB king would be the one eveyone knows, but he is far from being the only one.
Actually, Eric Clapton can play some serious guitar and blues is his specialty. I do love Stevie Ray Vaugh, but he is somewhat a mix between Rock and blues.....

I know you have enough answers, but the old school blues players were great, no doubt. But Stevie Ray took it to a whole new level with fingering that no one ever took on. BTW, Hendrix was sloppy.
