Most of the time, especially with music, what we end up listening to is out of our hands. The music that we hear most often is music produced and recorded in the United States, sung in English. That is the music that gets onto the radio, and is therefore spread by word of mouth into popularity.
I am sure that if Americans had an easier way to be exposed to International music, then we wouldn't be so "narrow-minded". Personally, I will go onto the iTunes radio to listen to other countries' music. I find the Iranian pop music station especially interesting.

Many Americans are from the South and Midwest. The media has recently found out that the less-tolerant south and mid-west areas are a burgioning market. Now the media is pandering to them by saying a lot of stuff that they agree with, so they can get their money for advertising. It's a shame really. The Northern and Western areas are almost as narrow-minded but at least they don't believe everyone should be christian, and support a former drug addict and DUI offender as a president.

I think its because they want to understand the words and
also its THE music! In Germany they listen to German music, but the majority listens to American music. The also listen to Spanish, french etc. But that's Europe everything is close together, we're very far from that continent.
I don't think its narrow-mindedness, its just not played on the radio.
I just read most of the answers, guys don't be so hard on the guy, he posed a question, and his english is not that great, but at least he's trying. And because his english is not great, he's lacking the proper words and maybe sound off-standish.

S. and am an self sufficient, yet i'm no longer relatively left wing, I do exactly no longer believe the two social gathering. Christianity is the biggest faith in the U. S. and consists of human beings of all races, yet in the region I stay interior of maximum folk of Christians are Hispanic. the place I used to stay it became into rather calmly between Blacks and Whites. Which of those communities do you sense is vindictive, racist and bigoted? Or are all persons? it is advisable to learn fairly extra approximately American Christians before you come back to a call we are each and every of a similar.

Why are spanish speaking people so rude and braggy and anti-American?
I love Linda Ronstadt and Gloria Estaban, and alot of bi-lingual singers.
You won't share alot of music by insulting people. And people do like to understand the lyrics, duh.
Sayra finally go voted off Rock star. She's not a rocker and dressed trashy. But her spanish song was perfection. That's what she should be doing. Does that sound narrow minded?
Maybe you should start with the man in the mirror.

What are you talking about? This doesn't really make much sense.
Americans listen to all sorts of music. Different languages and genres. It is fairly narrow-minded of you to call Americans narrow-minded without getting to know all of them.

First of all, you need to improve your choice of words and grammar, it was so f-ucking hard to understand you. Next, a lot of Americans don't understand Spanish or other languages, and you can't blame them for not wanting to listen to songs they can barely understand, let alone sing to. And stop generalizing, I'm American and I love Spanish songs.
