It has been 2 years since I got my computer and I want to try to modify its looks. But I have to have a list of the hardware in it. Processor, harddisk, ram etc. Their product names, numbers and years etc. A program or a section of Windows itself?

Go to Start, open your control panel, open system properties, click on the hardware tab, then select device manager tab. Assuming you are running Windows xp, this will give you a list of the hardware features on your PC.

in the control panel, go to performance and maintenance and click on the device manager icon. for specifics, you can doubleclick the hardware in the list.
