It kind of died with the New Deal after the Depression - letting someone else make your decisions for you and rationalize when you did bad things. As far as Pez dispensers go, look on EBAY. (Not spam).

Yes. Being held accountable means you could be judged on your work/conduct, and that could make people feel inferior, or so the Politically Correct police would have us believe.
You can't have accountability when no one is allowed to say that something is right or wrong for fear of offending people.

Actually it started during the mid-'80's with the "everyone is a victim of something." This then went over to the "political correctness" side and now (because it could traumatize someone, no one is to blame for anything.) Sad, isn't it?
