Lennon was asking to imagine a place where things that divide people (religion, possessions, etc.) did not exist. He felt that would be a much better place. There are people on Y!A who divide people based of religion mostly. Some people have wondered if Lennon included a message in the video for this song as well. In the video, Lennon is dressed as a cowboy and Yoko Ono is dressed as an Indian squaw. This could be a kind of message about all cultures getting along. We should take a leap out of legendary John Lennons' words.

He'd probably like the legit ones but wouldn't like spammers much unless they were just trying to be silly AFTER answering the question. As far as malice goes, he'd never condone that stuff. He might have had his own share of personal problems with McCartney over Yoko, but he was too professional to let that stop the creativity or lash out at the wrong people. He was a REAL hero.

I'd imagine (groan, sorry), that it was precisely for those with a 'narrowed' view on life that he wrote the song in the first place.
In my opinion the lyrics of Imagine should be listed among the creeds for modern man. Others might be:-
Desiderata (by Max Erhmann)
&
If (by Rudyard Kipling)

i think john would be greatly disappointed with the world today and the fact that we have not learn ed anything from the great people like Gandhi, Oscar wild, etc you see comedy and ideology go together like as you will see as you get older.and of course himself..we are all just people who have no trust in others and like to see our brothers and sisters hurting for the world is no better place as to when we see each other crying. i thank you all and learn to love and learn to live and learn to give and learn to be a better person for all you know it could be you one day who needs the help of the man next door.....please PONDER.....

He'd probably like it, as it allows an observer to see into the minds of the people who live on this planet.
