I go to work everyday M-F 7am - 4:30pm. Get home at 5 clean the house, play with the baby, put the baby to bed, wore out by now, watch tv, go to sleep. This pattern is so hard to break and it puts a sex strain on me and my hubby, we only do it on the weekend for some reason. weird?

Thank you for all your comments. Its not just about sex. I just think that since we got ourselves in this routine it hinders the "mood" during the week. On the weekends we do different stuff so I think thats why we do it then. My husband helps a lot with the baby and housework. He's great, but I have a really hard time getting him to do different things....its not so bad though.

no it's pretty normal actually. you work and have a kid, not too much time for yourself, so when you finally do have some time it's already late at night and you're exhausted. plan out a day.. secretly.. you can plan it in your head all day at work. can someone watch the baby, if not it's ok, run the baby a nice warm bath and give him/her some warm milk (to make sure he'll stay asleep) and put him to bed around 8pm. make yourself pretty and you'll feel great. even if you're a little tired, the fact that you've been planning this night all morning in your head will make you want to stay up and have a good time. good luck ;)

No its not weird. At first after my daughter was born my husband and i were both very tiered from work, the house and the baby that sometimes we only had sex twice a month on rare occasions never. AS time went by and my daughter got older we found it a bit easier to manage things and we weren't so worn out from the day to day running of things. This i normal and hey at least your still doing it on the weekends for some people the sex stops completely until the child is older. So it give time and it will get better. Also try having your hubby do things around the house to help out so that you two can share the work load and have more energy.

"Not so bad" isn't good enough. Your marriage is waaaaay too important to let this happen. Get a sitter one day each week, say on Wednesday. Go out to dinner with just your spouse- even just at McDonalds. Have a drink. Go for a ride. What you do doesn't matter- just do it together. Find ways to put fun back in your relationship, cuz a marriage needs fun. I'm willing to bet that IF you lay out an extra sexy nighty on your bed, he'll notice, and be happy to skip TV in favor of going to bed early- before you two are sleepy. Do whatever works- but do it quickly. A marriage that is too routine, is flirting with problems. Remember, you two are lovers, not just friends.

Girl, that is the way it is sometimes. You have to do something purposely to shake up the day. Maybe you are too worn out for sex. Maybe you let life slip you by. Find purpose in every day living. Go out to a movie during the middle of the week. Try going on a picnic or to the mall with your family. Soak in a bubble bath. Slip into some lingerie. Read an autobiography of somebody famous. Tons of ideas, but you have to find something that you enjoy.

Feel for ya because I've been.. One thing I found: If you work in an office, get out at lunch. Even if you have to just sit in the car or under a tree....(by yourself.).... Which brings me ...Make a good lunch...Not a large one. and fluids. Shot of brandy isn't bad. Take the rest of the day in your stride. Apply the same strategy to home, don't neglect..Just resurrect..Good luck Working Mom. Surprise him with past thoughts of what you guys thought cool and sexy. Put the kids in the laundry hamper. It's your night whenever you want it.....

No. Not weird at all.
What do you expect, Hon??
You have a full busy life.
Doing it on weekends is cool....most don't even do that.
Accept it for what it is.
It's life ... and ...yours is quite full of other necessities that have a higher priority.
Does hubby help with the chores and baby?
If not....that definitely needs to be changed.
My opinion...?? You're doing a damn good job!! Keep up the good work, Sweetie!!

You have to make time for intimacy. You need to block out a set time. it may sound funny and wierd but if it is the only thing that will get you to be intimate during the week then make it work. Guzzle some coffee and jump his bones!

No, You are not alone. Why don't you try turning off the TV at least two nights a week and make love to your husband. You should be able to go to sleep after that.

It helps to keep a routine for the infant, but to keep things fresh when it comes to your own adult wants and needs.
Shake up the theme here a bit, each time changing the routine so that it is fresh. It takes a bit of courage and it can be done.

Perhaps hubby can help with some of the chores if he wants a little "attention" as well. Ease your load and maybe even put yourself into the mood.
