Yes, because no one wants to live a normal life. A normal life is a life without danger, a life were you can predict every move, a safe life.
We have a love affair with danger since childhood. Every major cartoon show is popular because of its danger. We grow up pretending to be super heroes Trying to save the world.
When we grow up we realize that the cartoons are not real, but that doesn't mean we don't long for its excitement. We flirt with danger to keep our life interesting.
If the word risk is associated with danger, and love (dating,the act of finding the one) is a risk, then we have left our childhood form of danger for a more reasonable one. We realize that we can not bring the entire world happiness, so we try to get happiness for ourselves. In the end, we flirt with danger for happiness, whether it is for others or ourselves.

YES. It has been theorized that the human race has a death wish....which I personally disagree with. I do however, agree that the human race has a fascination with death and danger, and we are addicted to the rush (adrenaline) we get from the danger of risk, and from outsmarting or cheating a less that favorable outcome.
