To be really honest, I think 85% of this man's recorded output since about 1983 is totally overcommercialised. Of his scattered gems I'd pick 'Religion', 'Bennie & The Jets', 'Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues', 'Daniel', 'Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)', 'Burn Down The Mission', and for sheer campiness, 'Crocodile Rock.'

I can no longer listen to ANY version of 'Rocket Man', by ANY artist, without hearing William Hung faintly in the background.

Both 'Candle In The Wind' and that Lion King song give me all the symptoms of a grand mal epileptic fit, and I have been almost admitted to hospital more than once before gasping 'I'm OK...Elton attack...' in the back of the ambulance.
