About 3 hours using the super-fery (a big hydrofoil) from Raffina (to the east of the new airport). The old ferry from Pyraeus (Athens port) is the cheapest but takes seven hours.
www.gtp.gr gives ferry timetable
www.ktel.gr gives bus timetable
www.aia.gr is Athens airport
www.travelling.gr and www.greekislands.gr give a lot of general tourist stuff.

took a ferry to Athens from Italy, it was an overnighter and we slept on deck. Maybe they do the same thing for cheap.
