I know for sure i can play dvds and burn cds but im not sure about burning dvds.

The $1199 Macbook model burns CDs and reads DVDs/CDs. The $300 superdrive option adds burn DVD capability.

Yes, the superdrive is a DVD/CD Burner. The Mac OS has built in support for burning data DVD/CDs. The Macbook will also come with iLife preinstalled which will allow you to create home movie DVDs.

I'm not certain. I think that the "superdrive" can burn dvds, but I don't know for sure. Check out Apple/ Macintosh's website.

I think that there is software included to burn a dvd, so I'd think you should be able to burn one.

in one word, yes. that is the definition of a superdrive - it burns both DVDs and CDs. you burn DVDs the same way as burning a CD.
