Can this poem by Robbie Burns be applied to today's Muslims?

Question

"On Thanksgiving For A National Victory"

Ye hypocrites are these your pranks
to murder men and give God thanks?
Desist, for shame proceed no further
God does ne want your thanks for murder.

I am aware that Islam does not consider that killing a person who has invaded a territory or who has killed a Muslim is "innocent" so under Islam it is not murder. Also, people from a COUNTRY which has invaded a territory or who has killed a Muslim are not considered to be "innocent", if I understand correctly.

People in the West, however, feel that shahids with cell phone detonators, car bombs or explosives taped to their midriff who kill the infidel, kuffar in the jihad of the cause of Allah - are murdering and mostly murdering INNOCENT people because the people that are dying are not soldiers.

Does God want us to kill others in his name?

Grrr. I did not say that Muslims should be killed. The poem says to desist killing in the name of God. Isn't that what Muslims do when they kill someone? Does God want us to kill in his name?

Robert Burns was courageously saying that those who kill in God's name were besmirching God. And though you posted this about Muslims, I think we can all agree that those who kill in the name of whatever God are doing the same thing.

It makes me sick to see little children, no matter under what flag they lie, dying in the rubble. Can we not understand that we are all children of God?

Lotus seems to be quite ignorant...not knowing what exactly is happening within the world. Believing what she hears and reads. "There is no diversity within the Muslim community" have you lived within the Muslim community? have you seen the standard of living? have you met a Real Muslim? Islam is a very beautiful religion. Many people around the world do anything in order to bring Islam to crises and spoil its reputation...and the only way for them to do this is by representing Islam and being themselves who are made of evil and stupidity...and so people all around the world Will start to think that yes Islam is the reason for all of this not the person that commented the crime...and so the terrorists will achieve their objective which was to spoil the name of Islam. Islam will never bring unfair,critical,disappointing,wrong etc. environment within the world. I'm here to say that Islam is the religion that can take you to the right place called Heaven.

Do you people even know how Muslim people are being deceived and tortured? I guess not...your country will let you people see things that are inaccurate but never shows you the accurate information about the Muslim community..to see how wrong you people are about them and that they are the hunted not the hunter!

Islam has strong beliefs where million and billions of people around the world believe and respect.

might want to i say that because the church led to such an rather good type of witch burnings, then all christians were murderers and that christianity is a faith of hatred and demise? or that all and distinctive roman catholic clergymen are pedophiles? And definite, muslim extremists who kill in the call of religion are killers, a twin of the different type of extremist. yet which could no longer all-inclusive. muslim extremist isn't synonymous with muslim. the latter covers an rather huge decision of human beings and beliefs. yet excuse me, to cite your 2d paragraph, do you concentration on someone who has killed yet another (be they muslim or in the different case) "innocuous"? even the bible says "an eye fixed for an eye fixed", even inspite of the undeniable fact that i do no longer recommend that. and NO, God does no longer desire us to kill in His call. guns do not kill, human beings do.

Yes. All muslims kill. Infact, when a muslim child is born in America, we should kill it because there is no diversity in the muslim community. Diversity in thought is for everyone else, except muslims.
