THe mainstream media in the US is owned by only six corporations. Take NBC for example, it is owned by General Electric which makes most of its money from Defense Department contracts. That's right, they make weapons for the government.

Now, how much do you think that they are going to criticize the US government and its policies? See the connection?

This is why so many Americans have embraced blogs and other internet media. Yes, there is a lot of dumb stuff on Yahoo! Answers for example.

But at least it's not corporate...

I do not believe any Media.. they are a business out for a profit there is some truth in all news but what that small portion is we must determine for ourselves. I really think they should have a report called "Crisis Inside America" and talk about the war on drungs, hunger, unemployment, violent crimes and our elderly not being able to live on the small amount of SS they are given each month. I still say take care of your own house before you start worring about what your neighbour is doing. People that live in glass houses should not throw stones and the US is under one gigantic glass roof. We have so many radicals right here in our own borders we should be worried about then any over sea problems. If everyone took care of thier own the world would start to feel some peace.

I don't take media at face value, no matter where it is from. It is created by humans and so reflects their biases. Some are worse than other about coloring their reporting (i.e. Faux News and Extremely Ignorant Broadcasting), but everyone does it.

What you need to do is get your news from multiple sources that are fairly reliable and filter out the bs.

Remember, if both sides are lying, telling both sides won't tell you the facts.

I partly agree with you....

But its not just American media.... I think all the media cover up their country's leaders...
Can you imagine what would happen if the media in Saudi Arabia talk bad about their king...
It just so happens, that America is one of the super powers... thats why, the leaders, media and almost about everything is targeted...

i agree. news media twists its ideas to work for there predacessors. also, the government doesnt tell everything. if u read rolling stones, they show picture that the government doesnt show. its eye opening. also, they have stories about the government that they dont want u to know. *ex. bushes "enviornmental bill" was a big waste of money in some ways. he gave millions of dollars to arizona to clean up dusty streets. also, they sneak little things in there to get them passed too that really dopnt fit.

I believe in getting my news from various sources. CNN, FOX, BBC...it is interesting to see three different spins on the same news stories.

But I do not agree that history will look unkindly on America because of the War on Terror. I think that in hindsight, our children and our children's children will thank us, as they did after WWII.

If it weren't for america, where would other nations be right now?

I'll tell you, in a sink whole.

All we want is peace around the world, is that too much to ask.

Don't judge us and we won't judge you.
