Just don't like using the word "terrorism" to define an army. All armies use terror as a weapon. To answer your question though it's like the chicken and egg thing, which came first? Remember when we were in Vietnam, we were told we were fighting Russians because they were supplying the guns. So they are fighting Americans because we supply guns to Israel.

In my opinion terrorism is a reaction to a situation. The inherent reason that terrorism is not the same as 'freedom fighting' is that the target of the aggression is misplaced.
Terrorist target civilians to instill fear in a populous, in an attempt to cause reaction from the inside out, rather than fight their 'oppressors.'
The attacks made by the individuals from the Mid-East qualify as terrorism because they target not only civilians, but completly unrelated parties. They should focus their energy on their own corrupt leaders and attempt to better their situation for their whole society.

Terrorism is a action against the civillized world caused by uncivillized people who are still living in the 7th Century
and are therefore jealous of the advances made by very
intelligent people who had the foresight to make life better for mankind.

It is action undertaken by people who have no sense of justice. It's like a child who throws a temper tantrum because he's not allowed to watch TV.
The result is that the tantrum thrower "feels" good about himself and gives him a sense of power that really doesn't exist.
Many parents cave into children who throw tantrums; many countries cave into terrorists. In either case, the imagined sense of power is reinforced, and used again and again until somebody finally stops giving in.
