Congrats on waiting girl! Doctors typically say you should start going when you turn 18 or start to have sex. It is especially important to see a doctor when you start having sex because cervical cancer has been liknked to HPV - a sexually transmitted virus.
My two cents: As long as you are a virgin you probably don't need to go unless you are having a medical problem.

Most definitely! A gynecologist can do a pap smear and check ovaries and other female organs. They have the knowledge and understanding of various problems encountered by females; as well as the possibility of infections. Gynecologist are more up to date with medications that can treat vaginal infections as well as answer any questions you might have. Personally, I would seek out a female gynecologist at your age or even if you were older. They seem to have a better rapport and understanding of females and would seem to be easier to talk to about certain things that one might be a little embarrassed to discuss with a male Dr. It doesn't matter if you are a virgin, actually it could be a plus. She/he could explain things a lot better from the get go.

Of course should a virgin go to gynecologist. A gynecologist is a doctor for women no matter whether she had sexual intercourse or not. A woman can have many typical diseases. This is independent of her sexual behaviour.

If your a virgin you should go to the gyno at 18...or when you start having sex...or if your having problems. As long as your not having sex and everything is working fine, wait until your 18. I was 18 when I first went.
