it's a '95 Chevy Caprice 9c1(police package). it has an LT1 corvette engine, a new transmission, and goes 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. anybody have experience w/ these cars? the price is $2500.

I own a 94 9C1, I agree with the mechanic some do get flogged. On the other side some don't, for example ones that are passed from shift to shift get beat but some law inforcement agencies issue the car to an officer, those are usually in better shape and beat on less. If you luck out you can find one that was a captians. Overall I like mine a lot, I purchased it with 88K miles on it and I am up to 196K now. I have had the usual replacement things and some other more pricey ones, but you will have that in any car.

I would suggest that you make sure that it really has an LT1 and a “new” transmission. If it does, than buy it and join the Blues Brothers fan club.

Yes it is well worth the money! even if it has high miles,it will be worth the money and time to rebuild it.plus think of how much fun it will be seeing everyone hit their brakes cause you will look like a cop

i work for a transmission company, make sure the transmission has a cooler on it, this car had alot of problems with transmission overheating.

OLD POLICE CARS GET ABUSED PRETTY WELL, AS LONG AS YOU'RE PREPARED TO DO SOME MAJOR WORK IN THE NEAR FUTURE GO AHEAD. THEY ARE DURABLE CARS OVERALL BUT EVERY VEHICLE HAS IT'S LIMITS.
