If you have a garden then put the used grounds around your plants, use the coffee to water the plants and it helps protect them from slugs and snails.
The Americans proved that it kills off slugs and snails. It seems that it works the opposite to us and the caffeine puts them to sleep and they then don't hide and the blackbirds eat them or the heat of the sun kills them.
It seems that the Americans discovered this fact when they were spraying an area because of frog problems, they noticed that the area had 95% less slugs and snails.
Personally, I'd like to know why they were spraying with coffee against frogs in the first place. Who can guess why the Yanks do anything. ;o)
A more mundane answer would be to switch the coffee machine off as soon as the coffee is made and then use the microwave to reheat the coffee as required. The coffee doesn't stew and the first cup tastes as good as the last.

Tip into clean and sterilised gallon demijohn. Put water filled airlock on it. Continue to add cold coffee until 3/4 full. Add: 1 Tsp brewers yeast, 2 tsps 'Marmite', 2 campden tablets, 6 - 8 oz granulated sugar. Shake demijohn (gently) to stir sugar and yeast aound. Put in a warm place (an airing cupboard is too warm and you'll kill off the yeast) and leave for 6 - 8 weeks. When fermentation complete (no more bubbles in airlock) strain and filter into 2nd clean (sterilised) Demijohn. Put cork on jar and leave alone for another 3 - 4 months.
You now have coffee wine. Cheers!!!!

You can make a nifty after dinner drink with cold coffee poured over vanilla ice cream and topped off with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. I used to get this when I lived in Bruxelles, it's called Cafe Liege Fois there.

You can use the cold coffee and the grinds in your garden watering or for your potted inside plants . It won't go to waste. The grounds will just become fertilizer for your plants and the coffe will just be some additional source of watering moisture.

I usually reheat it. Maybe I'm a bit of a philistine but I can't really tell the difference.
Another use is to soak sponge fingers in it when making tiramisu.
The grounds can go straight on the garden(by themselves), or into the compost heap(with the filter paper).

Throw your coffee pot away and use instant(Yuban or some high quality freeze dried) or use it to make smoothies(4oz milk per cup of coffee then freeze)

the stuff in the filter is apparently good for your garden. I saw in starbucks they were giving this stuff away for around your plants - full of nutrients for them apparently!! Could you not drink more coffee in the morning!!
