FFV's can run off of straight E85 or 85% ethanol and regular cars can run on only 10% ethanol (supposedly but i know they can run on E85 and probably 50%ethanol), what is the differene between the two vehicles mechanically? different engines, different parts what is it? Do you have a FFV, is it any different?

"Phantom" and "Mommy" are offering you the best answers. It's got nothing to do with the combustion temperatures.

I'ts that the more alcohol in the fuel, the sooner the flexible, "rubber" tubes, gaskets will deteriorate and crack. Also, some of the harder, metal lines need to be especially coated to prevent the corrosion mentioned.

EThanol i believe will corrode the fuel lines/motor faster and no normal cars cannot handle ethanol..they have 10% for a reason...

the new technology allows ethanol to be used..they have better components to avoid the corrosion in the fuel system and motor

Phantom is correct. The valves, injectors and exhaust sensors (oxygen sensor and EGR) are different to handle the corrosion and also to handle the extra heat produced by E85. I believe that the engine control computer is also calibrated differently to change ignition timing and fuel rate.

I imagine the two different fuels have different combustion temperatures. They can't both run in the same engine, one would misfire.

i think ffv have parts that are less vulnerable to corrosion. i heard ethanol is very corrosive.
