We've been seperated many years and never got a divorce. I don't know where she is or have any contact info, I don't think she's in America. Is there anyway to know if she has divorced me already before I file for one?

The only thing I can think of is public records in the state in which you were married. Where ever the marriage license was filed so should be any divorce papers. Good luck.

You need to check the records in the County/Town/City where you were married in the vital statistics or clerks offices (sometimes one in the same). That is where your marriage certificate lies. You also could check the Family Court in your state (for the county in which you live) and see if any divorce papers were filed listing you as one of the parties. If not then no. You probably need the advice of a lawyer if it is filed or possibly pending.

Good Luck.

Courthouse would have the records. Look where you were married the county or what ever they call the area where you were married in. You should have been served with papers. I don't know if a divorce can happen without you signing papers or not. Find one of those laywers who does free consultations for some more advice.

Technically papers are supposed to be served to you letting you know that you and your wife are now divorced. That is what happened with my husband and his first wife.
