I hate when you go in for a back ache and they treat you like you're just wanting some pills, like a drug addict.

A lot of them are really good guys.
The problem comes from our culture (or lack of it)
We perceive anyone in a lab coat as a genius. On tv if they want you to believe some claim the actor wears a white coat.
The reality is this - doctors endure the most intensive vocational training on the planet. BUT - they are not educated people. You have to be smart to pass med school but that doesnt make you into an expert in non medical topics or topics not adequately covered in med school like nutrition. Most schools teach the food pyramid and call it good. But if you spend your day around people who treat you like god it is unbalancing.
For example:
Doctors have the highest accident rate of any group flying private aircraft and for really stupid stuff like flying into thunderstorms. Maybe a bit too much god complex.

You have a very sick opinion and disposition about doctors. Not all are jerks and if you think they are above others then that is your perspective and you have an inferiority complex. People work hard to become doctors and many are very dedicated to their work and their oath is to heal the sick. Granted there are some people who are jerks who are doctors but aren't there jerks in all professions? Yes. I have met many doctors because of my health condition and granted there are some jerks out there but for the most part they chose their profession for a reason and want to help others.

Being a jerk is not a requirement to earn a medical degree.
Being a decent physician is a matter of ethics - as is being a decent anything.
A person's personality is not solely determined by thier work and vica versa.
Perhaps you need to get a new doc -and stop looking at them as anything more than the humans they are.

Because a lot have a God complex because they think they can save your life. Add to that an air of superiority from going through so much school and there it is. I know, I've worked with doctors for a long time and alot of them are truly arrogant. Don't get me wrong there are some good ones, but in my experience those are few and far between.

Yeah, some doctors are jerks, but many are not...just overworked and trying to survive in a litigious world.
As to sticking their hands in people you describe as "yuuuuuuk"...it would seem that if they were jerks, they wouldn't be doing that! Maybe you are the one being a jerk by judging people by the way they look and then believing that they shouldn't be touched because they don't meet your standard of appearance.

Some docs do have a God complex because their jobs denote a certain status and prestige. When people think you have to be one of the smartest people in the world because you're a doctor, some doctors let that just go to their heads.

They don't care about people only money. They have inflated egos and treat other professionals as inferiors. They are drug company patsies and pill pushers and perform unnecessary surgeries strictly for profit. Being wary of individuals who can benefit financially from prolonging your ill health is wise. As a group they are not to be trusted and should be disdained for their overt superiority complex and their lack of compassion for the suffering of others.

Not all of them are jerks, and if your doctor is a jerk to you, you need to switch doctors, or talk to him or her about it. Many times doctors forget that each client they have is a real person not just a body with a few problems. If it was a one time thing, maybe he or she was just having a bad day, don't tell me you have never had a bad day.

Maybe you just go to the wrong doctors, the ones that I know are true professionals. They don't look down on their patients. I'm not discounting the possibility that there aren't sleezeballs around like you have described, after all doctors are human .
