When the person's quality of life is in decline.
I had a patient that was 103. She was constantly in pain and miserable. As well I had another patient who was 101 and he was all hands (a butt grabber) and fiesty as anything.
So you've 2 examples of people who are in triple digits yet one was in misery and the other not so much.
I think it's assinine to assume any given age is "just TOO old".

80 is not to old! my papa is 86! no age is ever to old. they are alot wiser than we give them credit for. Some of the best stores and advice came from my Granny & papa.
