I am seriously considering getting the 1405 but I've read several reviews that say the screen is a pain. It does seem very mirror-like and reflective. Some say it's tough to view if well lit environments w/the TrueLife display. I've even seen people write that the screen makes it almost un-useable. I'd like to use it as a portable computer for grad school and use it in a variety of places. Do you think the screen would be a problem?

I have a 1505 with truelife display and I have a friend who has a 1405 without the truelife. It's easier for me to see things on the screen from every angle with my display than his and I only find it reflecting off the screen is really bad is when there is a direct light behind me and when the brightness is turned down. The truelife is definitely more shining and reflective than the normal one, but it is obviously better looking.if you will be using this computer in a room with many bright lights shinning directly onto the screen, then I would say do not get the truelife display. I really don't know what the lighting situation will be at my college since I will be a freshman, but my house is pretty well lit

If you trust me (which you probably don't LOL but follow my advice anyway...)

STAY AWAY FROM DELL!!!

Dell by far are the crappiest computers I have EVER dealt with. You hear about their recent laptop battery recall where laptops can catch fire? That only confirmed by thoughts on Dell lol

I'd stay away from Dell and go with a high-end Toshiba.
