a saying that if you put a top on back to front, it is unlucky to change back.....or is my old man just winding me up...

that's what my mum says! i think it's if you put anything on the wrong way round or inside out

I've heard the saying a couple of times. But who wants to walk around with a back to front top on. I'll take the risk.

i am 105 years old and in my whole entire lifetime.. i have never ever heard that saying. if it's a nice cleavage revealing top, however, it would be bad luck if you wore it back to front.. you might have pulled that night .. had you wore it the right way round..so i guess, potentially there could be some truth in it!!
Underwear back to front .. however does bring bad luck!! Especially for the boys when they go to pee and they realise they can't get their dinkle to tinkle coz it's locked away !! lol

He is winding you up, wants you to look stupid. I have never heard of that saying by the way. My Nan should produce a dictionary of that stuff, she comes out with a saying for everything.
Does that also apply to putting your knickers on inside out or back to front?

Would be far more unlucky to go out with it on back to front....suppose it's a talking point though.

I use to hear this all the time as a child growing up in the 70's.
Another one was if you put your jumper on inside out...it was unlucky to change it...Loads of times I went out with my jumper on the wrong way...but I also remember loads of other people doing it too.
Oh...and it wasn't just your jumper...it was your vest t.shirt or pants too.
HaHa!!! Folk lore in the 70's...You canny beat it!

Yep its an old wives tale, one of those like don't walk under ladders, or don't put an umbrella up indoors, my mum used to tell me the same, if you put an item of clothing on inside out, you have to wear it like that. depends how superstitous you are! I always changed mine, I'd already broken enough mirrors by the time I was 7 for al lifetime of bad luck!

yes there is a saying if your top is inside out you cannot put it back on the right way it is very very bad luck, also if you do washing on new years day you will wash all your good luck for the year away sad people arnt we
