yes, as a general rule swimming while pregnant is fine. You'll appreciate it more during the later stage of your pregnancy, when the water can support your extra girth and take the pressure off your body.

Things to avoid include swimming in warm pools/hot tubs that elevate your body temperature past 100-101 degrees, scuba diving, etc.

Of course you can swim!! Swimming is a great activity because it helps strengthen your whole body and is a great cardiovascular exercise. Plus, it's low impact, it helps support your weight, and it keeps you cool. One thing, it's probably not a good idea to dive into a pool, especially later in your pregnancy. I stayed very active during my pregnancy and I think it makes a huge difference!! I know some women who treat pregnancy like it's a disease and they get lazy, but that is not good for you nor the baby.

its fine to swim. Actually, in your later months, swimming is quite relaxing as it takes the pressure and weight of the baby of your body for a while. What you do need to avoid however is having hot baths, through the whole pregnancy. Warm baths for no more than 15 - 20 minutes, and NO hottubs. Good luck

Swimming is ok.. No hot tubs though. The heat relaxes your muscles which can trigger labor. Don't forget that your baby is in a sealed enviroment. It will be fine. Good luck and Congratulations!! I am a Mother and it's the best thing in the world!!

A swimming pool should be fine (as well as a pond, lake or ocean where it is safe to swim). Stay away from hot-tubs though unless your physician says it is ok.

Geezz, you cant lose the baby just by going inside a pool. Unless you stay underwater for 5 min, then it will be dangerous.

No, it's not like you're gonna drown your baby or anything. Go for it, but see a doctor first. There might actually be ways of swimming while pregnant that might be helpful and medicinal.

Yes, it's ok. Swimming is good exercise. Just don't be doing any hard jumping in or diving. Go easy on your body & your baby. Exercising in water is very good.'

Yes, it is ok. I swam in a pool up to 8 months pregnant. The one thing you don't want to do though is sit in a hot tub!!
