yea - maybe 8-2 depending on if you want to stay there until it is all gone. Make sure your signs are EASY to read - not to much detail - yard sale - time and place - make it big so the people from the cars can read it going by - not for the people who stop and look - they are very few. if it is mostly clothes you may want to put that on your sign! Good luck and have fun!
oh yea - be prepared you will say 8 but people will start coming at 7:30 try to have as much as you can set up the night before if you are doing it in a garage! Watch for stealers - good idea to have a friend with you - one to answer questions and one to take money! Put signs up 1-2 days prior.
Good luck again!

In my local newspaper, they have a deal where if you put an ad in the paper about your garage sale, they give you a kit with signs and stuff. You might want to check your local paper to see if they have a similar deal.

8-12 seems about right, but you might want to extend the hours a bit. Get a couple of jugs of spring water and some cups and put the water in a cooler with ice so people will be more likely to hang around if they're hydrated. But if your clothes are particularly nice or fashionable, you might skip the garage sale altogether and sell your clothes on consignment or just sell them, period, at a resale shop. Then you could sell the stinkers they don't want at the garage sale.

we did this once, had alot of clothes to get rid of and we decided on having a bag sale, meaning as much clothes as you can fit into a bag for a certain amount, and as for the time 8-4 seems to be the best. good luck

8-2 or 3:00 is better... Put all clothes by size. Have them nicely folded on a table and tagged...Have coats and dresses and expensive things hanging on a clothesline. REASONABLE pricing is the key. You're not trying to make a fortune, just get rid of your stuff...

You can look around and see when others typically post sales.

In addition, they have a nifty Garage sale sign maker. really cool.

good luck.
