If it is really dry you have to use a combination of moisturising shower/bath products, intensive moisturisers (E45, Nivea, Johnson's baby range), olive oil or baby oil rubbed in regularly helps if severe. Use any moisturiser morning and night. A dermatologist friend used to tell me to rub cream into my skin when it was still slightly damp and really rub it into your skin - don't apply loads and let it sit on top of your skin - you need to work it in circular motions. Hope it helps!

Dry skin is a tough one, its what ever suits you and your skin, there is a number of products that promise dry skin relief, but no two people are the same, E45 is good on the body but would not recommend it for the face, I would recommend a visit to the doc's so you could establish the cause of the dry skin and get a professional opinion(as there may be something available on prescription) before you spend a fortune on products that promise great results. There is also a number of natural produts that you could apply if irritated like cucumber etc .hope this helps xxxxx

Cetaphil. It's cheap and doesn't smell like anything but it is thick and really good. For dry skin, try their hand cream and use it all over. Basically, if you want a good lotion, it should be about the same thickness as ketchup. Also, put the lotion on right after taking a shower because lotion is pointless on dry skin. Put lotion on anytime you get wet, like bath or swimming or whatever because water will dry you out when it evaporates, which is why they say not to lick chapped lips.

E45 cream will do the trick its only around £3.50 to buy and its extremely moisturising for dry skin. If you have skin like my son where it is cracked and bleeds from time to time (eczema) try using sudocreme as this is a healing antiseptic cream, you can buy this in chemists and supermarkets. If all else fails, try moisturising bath products like Dove body wash or use baby oil in the bath. Or take a trip to your doctor as they can always prescribe something to help, dont be embarrased dry skin is very common and they are probably used to people going in about it.

vaseline has a lotion yellow bottle with blue writing smells like heaven!!!

What i do bath with the dove shea butter bar then use the oil of olay shea body wash finish up with the vaseline nightly . I have the same problems. Shea butter works wonders on dry cracked skin. Also stop taking super hot showers or baths. ALTHOUGH they feel great they are depriving your body of oils. They are aiding the dry skin attack.
Also get some nivea soft whenever you can remember and afford to as NIVEA LEAVES A SLIGHT REISDUE. Massage your legs or problem areas baby them and you will see a change!

Try Aqueous cream BP avaiable from most chemist shops. My mum has extremely dry skin and uses this cream all the time with good results. So hopefully it will work for you.

Hi, Aqueous Cream, don't if you've tried it, it seems to help some but not all. I've certainly had some quite good results with it and in the same plus other places. Good luck.
