I still have not received my period as I am breastfeeding my 8 1/2 month old. I would like to get pregnant again but not sure when to have intercourse. How do I tell when I'm ovulating or even if I am ovulating?

typically you don't get pregnant while breastfeeding.

Try an ovulation kit or LH (lutant hormone) testing kit. These will help identify when your ovulating. You can also try taking your temperature as soon as you get up. Your temperature rises the day before you ovulate and the drops the day you are ovulating. It is possible, but unlikely, to get pregnant while breast feeding.

Good luck.

Most woman do not ovalate while breastfeeding. Your monthly will start soon after you've stopped breastfeeding (after the engorgement process is done). You can become pregnant after that. You can have sex (unless your doctor says otherwise) now. Did you go see your doctor 6 weeks after your baby was born?

Ovulation occurs exactly 15 days AFTER your period STARTS. If you started on the 10th, you ovulate on the 25th, duration is about a week.
