Sure, everybody trusts somebody, but only to a certain extent, right? But I'm not sure we can trust another human fully, or else we wouldn't have secrets. I think we want to be able to trust somebody 100% and want them to reciprocate that same amount of trust, but is it truly possible?

Trust certainly is something that is earned..and should not just be given openly..there are many with greedy intents in this world ..out to fill their pockets..but..the silver lining..not all are like that..be patient...there still are truly good people around..

There are people who I trust 100%. I don't care or feel insulted if they choose not to "reciprocate that same amount of trust". That's a weird concept.

Secrets are just things that another person doesn't know. They don't interfere with trust.
If secrets are a problem for you, it's because you don't trust that person-not the other way around. When you trust someone, you know that they would never keep anything from you that could hurt you. Trust does not mean that you get to live their life.

It is possible. It's just not anyone you know, at the moment.

i agree with what u said, and i also do not think u can trust one individual 100% fully.
it would be nice if u could though. i only trust myself fully because i know my true thoughts and wishes, as well as my positive and negative aspects about myself.
so what i do is try to increase my positive, and totally eradicate the negative--- that isn't as hard as some people think it might be-- u just have to stop doing things that are bad for u, that's all. it doesn't matter if it's just being late all the time or being a drug addict. how u try to stop so u can trust yourself as well as other people is the issue.

Sure I think it is possible to trust someone 100%. I trust my husband 100% but this comes from knowing him and him never giving me a personal reason to not trust him. He is truly my soul mate and best friend.

there are different kinds of trust...

you trust your lover with your heart
you trust your mailman with that important letter
you trust the pharmacist with your prescription

you know what i mean? only YOU can possibly know who YOU trust and how much you trust them...trust is a value
i don't think you can put a percent on it
because if you dont trust somebody "100%" then you're not really trusting them, are you? you either trust somebody with something or you don't...once you stop trusting them by "27%" youre not trusting them any more
that's why you can't measure trust UNLESS ITS 0 OR 100

Depends. There are some people that I would trust with my life, my money and everything inbetween. I think that if I had ever been betrayed by thatm then it would be very difficult for me to trust anybody again, ever.

You get to know people and you trust them to exhibit their characteristics. you may know this one's a snake, the other's honest, and so on and so forth....

Perhaps it's a matter of not having been stabbed in the back yet?

Maybe we should all try and trust each other generally, and only distrust people who have proved themselves to be untrustworthy, instead of the other way round. That would make the world a much more pleasant place to live.

It's gradually possible. Trust has to be earned, though.
