You own it until you die. Then your family owns it, unless it's taken away with the inheritance tax.

Ownership is an agreement of the society in which you live. What you are allowed to own and the extent to which you have ownership of it varies from society to society. Being a human agreement, it is not secure or eternal, so it can always be restricted, carry penalties or be taken away from you.

no, the gov owns it. You have to pay them every year to keep it. taxes..If you don't they will come take it.
