I am not entirely in agreement with the wiretapping episodes.. If I were in charge.. I would TRIPLE the amount of wiretapping. It is Absolutly.. totally essential. The recent(as of today) judgement by a terrorist judge (U.S./ District Judge Anne Diggs Taylor in Detroit) to do away with wiretapping is a disgrace to the United States. That wench, terrorist advocate should be shot immediately and all of her cronies of the ACLU. Wake up stupid, naive America, it is such trash as Judge Taylor who is selling you down the drain to the terrorists.

I agree wire tapping is a really useful tool against terrorism.
However it is a privacy issue that could get out of control, not because of any kind of conspiracy but just because once the tool is available someone else in law enforcement is going to find a justification to use it, thats just human nature.
Oversight is essential.

I am 67 years old and this is the first time that I can say that I am ashamed to be an American because of our "President". That man has screwed up everything he has touched. Our country's world-wide image is the lowest in history because of our present administration and it's policies. The sooner this moron is out of office, the better off all of us will be.

I've got no problem with wire tapping. It's been common knowledge of the existance of the echelon system, which allegedly monitors all communications (voice, email, fax, etc...) and searches for combinations of keywords to flag transmissions.
If we give up some privacy to save lives...I'm fine with it. Now, if they start hauling people in for stupid stuff based on those conversations...then I'd be upset.

Sorry dud, it is unconstitutional. if you so want to have a camera on your house to be "protected" you will have to immigrate.
Finally a Federal Judge have put an end to this madness...

Have you read the whole Patriot Act ?
Patriot Act : http://www.epic.org/privacy/terrorism/usapatriot/default.html
I strongly invite you to read "1984" of George Orwell, (Eric Blair)
If the Illuminatis wouldn't have forged this terror, maybe it could be a idea, if it would be real terror. But it is not...

Let him do it !!! He's not interested in any of our phone calls ( that's a Democratic scare tactic). If his wire tapping stops an attack in this country , Go For It.....

I think there is a constitutional right for us to be free of any unwarranted search and seizure. If they have just cause the courts will be happy to oblige with a search warrant, however to scan everyones phone calls , and emails is unconstitutional.
Next you will say ,we all should be subject to strip search for our safety, and we should have nothing to hide.
If you give up your rights for safety you lose both.

its just another step in moving towards tyranny ...the Nazis did the same thing after they implemented a piece of legislation very similar to the US patriot act ... so go ahead and throw your freedoms and privacy away for alittle safety ... ur brainwashed into thinking you are in emminant danger ... ... did you know 911 and the world trade center attacks were predicted? ... mark my words and keep them in a little pocket of memory ... all these little fake settup "busts" you see of terror plots are leading up to another major PLANNED terror attack by YOUR govt against YOU in the next couple of months .... its there tool to keep the population behind their total control and to back their plans .... call me a radical conspiracy theorist if you want ... but remember that i told you so and its easy to connect the dots if you just open your eyes to what is going on ... dont forget i told you now ...it wont be a coincidence ... im telling you for a fact.

OK. But how will you feel when it turns out he's wiretapped not potential terrorists -- because he can't figure out who they are -- but his political opponents?
Real terrorists don't use AT&T. They use messengers, or they use "code talkers" whom NSA cannot translate.
And anyway, Bush isn't willing to spend money on real defense. He spends it on crappy fakes sold at high prices by his croies at Halliburton, etc.
