They have to have to complain about some aspect of the education system. Overall I think teaching standards have improved (even though teachers aren't paid a great deal of money) and students are doing better due to resources such as the internet, T.V revision programmes and revision guides. In my opinion if the government or local authorities dont get the figures they want they have to find something to blame it on. I hate it when the media etc. put down all the hard work we have done because we've done better (or worse if that's the case) than expected.

Because the standards have slipped, the students do well even though they don't deserve to. Its been getting progressively worse, several years ago I had a psych class and never scored above an 82% on a test. I still got an A in that class. Thats what everyone is complaining about.

Really? People are moaning because student do well?
Gosh, here in Ohio, where schools are struggling, if the school district gets a good report it is broadcasted everywhere!
Good student reports mean a lot to districts here. Home owners are more likely to vote for school levies if they think their tax money is going to good use.
Over here, we'd be dancing in front of the Board of Education!

Record numbers of students gaining grade A at A level-must be something wrong there!
I don't know how teachers take this garbage from the Government and press year after year.
Oh hang on, I must do, I am a teacher

I think people would like exam standards to be toughened up, thus justifying the grades students seem to be achieving. PLUS, SOME PEOPLE JUST LIKE TO MOAN!

I think alot of it is media attention, on a general level these opinons are not shared. If you work hard you should deserve your grades.
