It's a classic. What makes it so great is that it hooks you in with such and intriguing and potentially exploitative premise, but surprises you with something that's a lot deeper and more meaningful. Watch the movie first, then read the novel (even though the novel came first), as the novel tells the story with a lot more detail and the movie might seem "lightweight" in comparison; while the novel is arguably the best version of the story, watching the movie first lets one enjoy both versions to their fullest.
There's also the very graphic manga version, but one thing to note is that it's not a faithful translation of the manga, and the writer of the English version, Keith Giffen, has taken a LOT of liberties with the story and dialogue.

I have been looking for that movie for years, can't find it. My best friend came back from a vacation all disturbed b/c him and some family members watched that and Requiem for a Dream in the same night. I think one time I ordered it on amazon or something and after a month or two they were like, we can't find your movie

Battle Royale*, yea it's definetely one of my favourite movies of all time. Amazing story.

No, I have not seen it. I know which one it is, though. I am still looking for the video. Plot sounds interesting and at the same time sick. It is supposed to be a really go movie, so I want to see it.

Ive seent he first one and it is an unbelivable film. awesom to the extreme.
however the manga is like a 1000 time better!!!
