In think there have been a number of newsworthy stories in the past 16 years.

The OJ Simpson trial, the bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma City, the Columbine tragedy, the capture of the BTK Killer, Hurricane Katrina....

The 9/11 tragedy is by far the event that has changed our lives the most. Our society is changed forever due to the tragic events at the World Trade Center.

The Michael Jackson scandals are not all that newsworthy in the scheme of things.
