Ask where they lived and how long.

Why do they want to move.

How many and what ages are going to be living with you.

Do you have a job and where at.

How soon will you need to move in.

How long do you plan to stay.

Don't rent to them on the 1st meeting maybe have 2-3 meetings.

Go by where they are living now to see what things look like from the outside.l

Also look at the person and who is with them. Do they look cruddy? Take a look at what they drive is it nice or a hunk of junk?

I've never really been asked too much as a tenant. I guess you could ask if they smoke (I'm assuming you don't want your house to smell like smoke). Do they have pets? Do they plan on getting pets? Ask about their employment....you'd like someone who appears to have a steady job and a decent income. You don't someone who's dodging you for the rent.

How long have you been employed? Where? How much money
do you make? Do you have any felonies? Do you have any evictions? Have you broke a lease? How many people will be living here? Do you have any pets? You can download forms off the net. You want a contract.
