What's the point of ANY animal?
But if you mean, what's the point of them having those long long necks - the point is so they can eat the leaves on the tops of the trees without competition.

The giraffe has evolved a long neck to reach down to ground level in order to drink or graze. Even with its long neck the animal still has to splay or bend its front legs to reach the ground.
The question is why does it have such long legs?
BTW, what is the point of the apostrophe in "giraffe's"?

Giraffes don't have a point and neither do any other animals including humans. They just are. Their genes just keep propagating them. The giraffes themselves don't have any influence in the process.

Why do they have 4 ears? Or so the children in my class used to ask! Innocence of children eh!
I suppose they are there for us to wonder, how something so graceful, so tall and so bizzare looking exist.

Almost certainly for eating high leaves. But it could also be a sexually selected trait, like peacock feathers. Females like males with longer necks, for whatever reason, and so their necks get longer and longer. They then would eat high leaves because their necks are long, as opposed to having long necks because of the high leaves.
