Isn't that just what we need? another trashy pop station? Do any of you remember years ago when 105.5 KNAC, LA's only rock station was taken over by Mexican Mariachis. What's happening to our culture? At least KZLA was taken over by an English speaking station.

I was in shock when I got in the car today as well... and then I turned on KFrog and heard the DJ explain that they had had a lot of phone calls from KZLA listeners. He explained that he had worked at KZLA for a few months a while back and even then, there were rumors of KZLA going off the air. He said it was a business decision plain and simple.. (A TERRIBLE ONE IF YOU ASK ME!!!!), Shawn Parr was supposed to be on that station later in the morning, but I couldn't listen, so no answer for you there, sorry. What I want to know is what happens to the KZLA Bash?????????????? If you look on the KZLA website they have already announced the people, but isn't this a breach of contract or something because people won't be advertised "on the radio" for the concert?? Any thoughts anyone??? I am soooooooooooo upset about all this!!!!!!! I think the station should have thought about it's listeners instead of it's pockets!! I already miss Peter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They stopped broadcasting country at 10:20am today 8/17. Movin 93.9 took over broadcasting. You can read an article about it here: http://www.radioandrecords.com/radiomonitor/news/format/rhythmic/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003019017

I still have no idea why they took KZLA off the air, but it really pisses me off.
