The origin of a company name is often a mystery. What we discovered, (besides the fact that Heidi Klum has been chosen to wear the Victoria's Secret jewel-encrusted Fantasy Bra a record three -- count 'em, three! -- times) is that there is no one "secret."
The Victoria of Victoria's Secret likely refers to the British queen. Ipso facto, one can conclude the aforementioned "secret" is merely part of a clever branding strategy, alluding to the titillating possibility that the prudish monarch (who at one point during her reign went into seclusion for 25 years) liked to wear sexy lingerie like the stretch lace Miracle Bra. Lucky Prince Albert.
But despite what some would say was a cultivated aura of Anglicism, Victoria's Secret started in the early 70s as a small lingerie shop in San Francisco. The store was decorated, according to Les Wexner, CEO of Victoria's parent company, like a Victorian brothel, complete with red leather sofas.
Not so secret, perhaps, is that over the years, the company has been the subject of various protests and accusations. Some claim it promotes hyper-sexualized images of women. And in 2003, the Supreme Court ruled that a small Kentucky sex shop called "Victor's Little Secret" did not infringe on the company's trademark.

Victoria's got a whole boatload of secrets, such as:
-The best bra for your dollar is the Angels lace-lined demi. It's only $36.
-D and DD cup bras are always $2 more than the same bra in a smaller size.
-Any beauty product that you liked last season has been discontinued and replaced with a slightly different product that's not nearly as good.
-The VS Angels card isn't worth it for the coupons: you get better ones by giving you phone number at the end of a purchase. And don't get mad at the associates for asking you about it, because they have to or they get yelled at by their managers.
-The sales associates really hate it when guys ask them if they'll model the sleepwear for them. So stop asking.

The secret is they assume every woman only goes up to a 12 (or some other ridiculous small size).
The selection for larger sizes is crap for clothes and shoes.

The secret is that the only way to get anything in a "plus" size is to order it online--none of the stores carry anything bigger around than a 38, and most don't go past a D or DD.
Stupid women's clothing.

The Vicky they are refering to is actually Queen Victoria who is said to have quite the fetish for undergarmants, despite covering it up with her extremely prudish ways.

I think her secret is that her husband's (the man that owns the company) name is Leslie. No joke. My uncles work for him.
