We just bought this house and I don't know anything about wood floors. I love to clean with my swiffer that has the wet pads you put on to mop with and then throw away when you're done. Will it damage my wood floors if I use this on them?

These wood floors are older, the previous owners found them under the ugly orange carpet that used to be there. I don't know if they are sealed or waxed or whatever the differences are.

It shouldn't unless the floors are damgaed. You might also try Murphy's Oil Soap. It's formulated for wood, and it's what I use on my 55+ year old wood floors. It always makes the floor look nice and it really does clean well.

No, I wouldn't use the swiffer wet cleaner sytem on wood.Check the label on the refill box, it should say id it's safe for wood floors. I would just use the dry Swiffer dusting cloths on hardwood floors. Too much moisture on hard wood floors is not a good thing.

We have wood floors and use a swiffer. No problems, in fact the guy that installed the floors recommended swiffer.

Thanks for asking the question, I was curious myself, I didn't know that swiffer put out a liquid for wood floors, I need to try that, also someone mentioned it wasn't good for animals, and that was a concern to me, but I looked up a web site listed below and it said there is no harm to pets.

Whoa! Do NOT use Murphy's Oil Soap on the wood floor. If it is a newer floor, with the prefinshed planks, then you will have spaces between many planks. The sides of the planks are not protected and you will liquid in there if you use a wet mop. Most of the newer prefinished pieces should do fine with a dry 'wood floor' mop.

Not at all. Swiffers are soft cloth, which is better for your wood floors than a straw broom.
